Orange County National Receives Two Prestigious Industry Awards By Jackie Beck
December 13, 2005, Winter Garden, Fl ... Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge recently received two prestigious industry honors. The 36-hole golf course and practice facility was named by Golfweek Magazine as a Resort Course of Distinction and also recognized in the 2006 Zagat's Guide to America's Best Golf Courses.
"To be ranked on both of these list is a great tribute to our commitment of providing golfers with a world-class experience," stated Bruce Gerlander, General Manager, Orange County National. "As more courses are being built in the Orlando area and around the country, we are constantly challenging ourselves to provide our guests with superior course conditions and exceptional service to keep them coming back."
Golfweek Magazine and Zagat's Guide uses raters to evaluate the properties. The selection process is based on a number of factors including: course conditions, amenities, service level, playability, and value. Zagat ranked Panther Lake 7 and Crooked Cat 11 on their list of best golf courses in Florida.
Orange County National is one of the country's premier golf facilities. It has been host site of a number of prominent professional and amateur tournaments and special events. Earlier this month it hosted the 2005 PGA TOUR qualifying school finals and next month will host the largest consumer golf demo day followed by the largest trade demo day.
Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge is a 36-hole Phil Ritson, Dave Harman and Isao Aoki designed golf resort located in the greater Orlando area. In addition to two championship golf courses, there is a 42-acre world-class practice facility, 22,000 square foot clubhouse with a restaurant, lounge, meeting rooms and an award winning golf shop.
