Orange County National Kicks Off the New Year as Host Site for Three Major Industry Events By Jackie Beck
December 14 2005, Winter Garden, Fl……….. Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge will ring in the New Year as the host of three major industry events in January. The facility will host Golfweek's Golfest, Golfweek/Straight Down PGA Pro-Pro and PGA Merchandise Show Demo Day. Over 6000 golfers and industry executives will be attending the events at Orange County National during the two-week span.
"It is an honor to be selected as the host site of these three prestigious events next month," stated Bruce Gerlander, General Manager, Orange County National. "Our facility set-up is perfect to handle the volume of people and traffic that the events create. Additionally, it gives Orange County National great exposure among golfers from around the country."

Golfweek's Golfest - Jan 21-22
Golfers will be able to try the newest equipment on the market and view the latest fashions from the top brands in the industry. The fun-filled weekend includes celebrity appearances, games and prize drawings, a wellness pavilion and golf instruction. Event is open to public: $15.00 for adults, children under 16 free.
Golfweek/Straight Down Pro-Pro -Jan 25
The top PGA club professionals from around the country team-up in a one-day Pro-Pro tournament. Event is open to public - Free.
PGA Merchandise Show Demo Day - January 25
One of the largest industry trade shows, PGA Merchandise Show, kicks off the week with a Demo Day. Golf professionals and retailers will get a chance to test all the new equipment that is being introduced by the club manufacturers during the show. Event is not open to public, credentials required.
Orange County National will hold the two demo day events on their 42-acre circular practice facility. It consist of 600 tee spaces, nine target greens, 2 greeenside and 2 fairway practice bunkers, 2 pitching and 3 putting and chipping greens along with a 20,000 square foot putting green. The Golfweek/Straight Down Pro-Pro will be held on both the Panther Lake and Crooked Cat Golf Course, the two courses used for PGA TOUR Q-School finals earlier this month.
Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge is a 36-hole Phil Ritson, Dave Harman and Isao Aoki designed golf resort located in the greater Orlando area. In addition to two championship golf courses, there is a 42-acre world-class practice facility, 22,000 square foot clubhouse with a restaurant, lounge, meeting rooms and an award winning golf shop.
