CELEBRATION GOLF CLUB NAMED 2004 BUSINESS OF THE YEAR Courtsey Celebration Golf Club
CELEBRATION, Fla. . . Celebration Golf Club was recently named "2004 Business of the Year" by the Kissimmee/Osceola County Chamber of Commerce. The club was honored for its outstanding community involvement, impact on area economic development, co-worker satisfaction and guest service.
"This is the first time a golf club has received this award, and we are excited because we feel that Celebration Golf Club provides the community with more than just a golf course," said Mike Horner, president of the Kissimmee/Osceola County Chamber of Commerce. "Over the last eight years, Celebration Golf Club has become a reliable community partner, as well as a driving economic force in our community."
Gene Garrote, General Manager of Celebration Golf Club, accepted the award at the Chamber’s annual business awards luncheon. "I believe our guests and our employees are the reasons we received this award," Garrote stated "We know who we are and why we are here. Our product is a great golf course, one of the highest rated courses in North America, Mexico and the Caribbean. But our core business is service!"
"As the manager of corporate development for an area nonprofit organization, I have seen first hand the impact Celebration Golf Club has made on the community," said Joan Reines of Give Kids the World. "They hosted several charity golf tournaments for us and were always wonderful to work with."
As an economic force, Celebration Golf Club has generated new business for Osceola County by partnering with the Kissimmee/St. Cloud Convention and Visitors Bureau and sponsoring the Meeting Planner Open for two years. In addition, the club hosted the Society of American Travel Writers in an effort to generate articles encouraging leisure travel to the area. For the fourth year, Celebration Golf Club will co-host the largest amateur golf tournament in the world, the Buick Scramble National Championships.
The club, which opened in October of 1996, was co-designed by the legendary Robert Trent Jones and his son, Robert Trent Jones, Jr. It is also the home of the highly successful Celebration Golf Academy and the popular Windmill Tavern Restaurant.
Celebration Golf Club is owned and operated by CS Golf Partners, which owns and operates six golf courses in Florida and Canada. The Club is rated 4-1/2 Star in Golf Digest's "Best Places to Play, 2004-2005" and in the Top 200 courses in North America, Mexico and the Caribbean for "Course conditioning and Standard of Service."
