Shingle Creek Golf Club Opens Brad Brewer Golf Academy Player Development Studio Courtesy Shingle Creek Golf Club
ORLANDO, FL (December 2004) – Shingle Creek Golf Club, the championship David Harman-designed golf course on Universal Boulevard, has opened a Player Development Studio for the Brad Brewer Golf Academy. The Player Development Studio is an indoor-to-outdoor learning facility that integrates three of the newest in game improvement technologies into one knowledge base. These include: advanced "swing capture and analysis" by Dartfish, the official video coach of the Athens Olympic games; "ball-at-impact" technology by EDH Sports and AccuSport Vector; and "ball flight launch monitoring" by EDH Sports and AccuSport Vector. Additionally, e-Coaching Technologies delivers the on-line solution to transporting and storing client information.
The Dartfish technology was used during the Olympics for such sports as diving and skiing, to show the path taken by the athlete. Similarly, the Dartfish technology that is now featured at Shingle Creek Golf Club allows golfers to view their swing compared to previous swings, or even to compare their swing to their favorite tour pro’s swing. This allows golfers to view corrections and adjustments needed, and enables instructors another means to provide guidance for improvement. The technology also enables instructors to send video analyses and comments to clients via e-mail.
"More than 20 years ago, I began my journey as a PGA professional both playing and teaching the game," said renowned instructor Brad Brewer, who is on-site at Shingle Creek Golf Club. "Many mentors along the way have contributed to my knowledge and passion toward player development for the new player to the tour player. None more important than the years spent with the King of Golf, Arnold Palmer. He instilled the importance of strong fundamentals with a simplistic approach, adhering to the tradition of the game of golf, and having fun doing what you do. This is still our mantra."
Brewer continued saying, "The advanced technologies in golf teaching being introduced today may sound complicated, and not simplistic. But this impacting technology, combined with our goal to keep the experience simple, works like a charm. Game improvement relies on executing consistent routines and practicing effectively. This takes time, of which today’s golfer is hard pressed. Using technology correctly will create a simple, fast and effective way to improve your game and have more fun playing better golf. Our e-Coaching services provide students easy Internet access to their instructor until they can physically come back to Shingle Creek for another great golf experience."
The Brad Brewer Golf Academy, headquartered at Shingle Creek Golf Club, offers half-day programs, two- and three-day Academy programs, private instruction, e-coaching (long distance learning via the Internet), on-course instruction and evening golf entertainment for corporate outings, and junior and group clinics.
Shingle Creek Golf Club is located at 9939 Universal Blvd., just off the Bee Line (S.R. 528), exit number 2. The championship course is bordered by the natural backdrop of dense oaks and pines, and runs along historic Shingle Creek – headwaters of the Florida Everglades. Offerings include a world-class clubhouse, golf carts with GPS yardage system, complimentary valet parking, full-service golf shop, and club and shoe rentals.
