Orange County National Panther Lake April 15, 2004 -- Based upon the success of the 2003 Q-School Finals, Orange County National has been asked to host this prestigious event again in 2005. As a result of the combination of difficulty and fairness of its two golf courses, Panther Lake and Crooked Cat, Orange County National was a perfect venue for this year end tournament that no one looks forward to playing in. Both competitors and PGA TOUR Officials were extremely pleased with the excellent course conditioning that allowed players to "go low" yet challenged them enough with 5" rough and firm, fast greens to test their skills and mental fortitude.

In 2003 thirty-three players recorded the seven (7) under par or better that was required to earn their 2004 PGA TOUR Card, led by Mathias Gronberg of Sweden who posted a winning score of twenty (20) under par. Players faced diverse weather conditions over the six-day event including varying wind strengths from all four directions. The balance in design and difficulty of the courses was noted in that scores fluctuated greatly each day on the same course, and were somewhat consistent between courses.

Orange County National General Manager Bruce Gerlander states "Being selected to host this very important tournament once again in is very exciting. It is also validation of the hard work and commitment by our staff in making last year's event such a success. We believe that we offer the perfect venue for this event and are glad that the PGA TOUR agrees. We are looking forward to 2005 and are already discussing plans to improve the event."

Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge is the home of two 4 ½ star rated golf courses (Golf Digest's Best Places to Play 2000-2004), a 42-acre circular practice range voted Best in America by The Golfer Magazine, a 9-hole short course, a 48 room lodge and a 30,000 square foot clubhouse including a 5,000 square foot golf shop. Orange County National has hosted the National Buick Scramble Finals the past six years and is located in Winter Garden, Florida, just southwest of Orlando.
