Shingle Creek Golf Club Redesigns Holes #17 and #18 Courtesy Shingle Creek Golf Club
ORLANDO, FL (July 2004) -- In an effort to make the finish of a round of golf at Shingle Creek Golf Club even more memorable, David Harman has just completed some marvelous golf course improvements on holes #17 and #18.
Hole #17 has two new fairway bunkers which frame the tee shot much better for the golfer. One has been placed on the right hand side of the fairway and one on the left. Any players that frequent these hazards will have a very difficult shot to the green. Also, the teeing area has been re-shaped to allow the player to aim down the middle of the fairway much easier.
Hole #18 has three new bunkers down the left side of the fairway which dramatically affects what the golfer sees from the tee. It tells the player that there is trouble to the left, and makes the player aim more to the middle or right side of the fairway. In addition, the hole has been lenghthened by 20 yards from all of the men's tees making it more than 450 yards from the back tees, and a much more challenging finishing hole.
Located just off of the Bee Line, exit number 2, Shingle Creek Golf Club features undulating fairways and interconnecting waterways bordered by the natural backdrop of dense oaks and pines along historic Shingle Creek, headwaters of the Florida Everglades. The course opened in December 2003, and offerings include the Brad Brewer Golf Academy, a world-class clubhouse, carts with GPS yardage system, complimentary valet parking, and free transportation from area hotels.
