Course was in horrible shape. Half hour behind at 8:30 am. Played behind a fivesome. When the starter was asked about the fivesome, the answer was that was the owner's group. Based on that and the conditions, stay away.

We liked everything about this course, with the exception of the 2nd hole -- described by the Starter as "...the hardest hole in Florida..." He was right -- too early in the round --nobody in my foursome scored less than triple!"

Our third time at Timacuan in an 8-year stretch with (essentially) the same group of guys. We were all looking forward to hole #2. So much has been written about this course, and that hole in particular. Look for details on the internet. The course is in fine shape, especially the greens.

I loved the back nine more, but also loved the different layout of the front as well. Unfortunately the weather was not as nice as it had been all weekend. I would love to play it again when we didn't have to hurry to beat the storms.

Played this course since it is close the Sanford airport, which we were leaving from. The course is not a big name course, but it nice test of golf with some interesting holes. I would recommend this course, if you are flying in or out of the Sanford and need an extra round. I wouldn't want to play all my rounds there but it is a nice course. Staff were really good.

About Timacuan Golf & Country Club (Lake Mary, FL)
A must-play while in Central Florida, Timacuan is a stunning 7000-yard championship course located in Lake Mary, 15 minutes north of downtown Orlando. Designed originally by Ron Garl in 1987 and totally renovated with a new look and feel by Bobby Weed in 1996, the course features two very distinct nines. The front nine resembles a Scottish links layout with rolling fairways (some dramatic) bordered by sandy waste areas and deep pot bunkers; water on just 3 holes. Terrific layout with wide variety of holes and elevation changes. Bunkers did not drain well after lots of rain although carts allowed everywhere despite wet low areas. Despite what they claim, front side is not links golf but plenty of memorable holes nonetheless. Pace of play excellent despite lots of players.
